Emergency Biennale in Chechnya was launched
on 23 February 2005, after an appeal to the artists and a mobilisation
of 2 weeks. More than 60 invited artists from the 5 continents
gave an artwork in a double exemplary, one for the suitcase to Chechnya,
the other one for the touring exhibition around the world, starting
in Paris, Palais de Tokyo, Site de Création Contemporaine.
For each stop of the itinerant part of Emergency Biennale in Chechnya ,
the host structure is demanded to propose new artists as to enlarge
the artistic participation and mobilisation.
Beside the artistic exhibition,
are presented information on Chechnya as well as documentary films about Chechnya : Pirjo
