"Your project hit at a core of
memory, and irony for me. I made these pillows in 1984 when we
were still in the "cold war" with Russia. And the Russians of course
were still in Cuba. One of the pillows has been in storage all
these years; I think you can see which one, the other one I've
been sleeping with since then. I think you should decide which
goes there. It's a tough call. Also, in terms of the "smuggling" factor
I selected them, as it is common to bring your own pillow on a
plane, I liked that aspect very much. And of course, the title "Sitting
Duck", for me... well, says it all. I'm going to miss my little pillow
a lot!" |
